Joint Exploration
More Movement…More Life
Movement is life.
For our ancient ancestors, movement meant survival. As a civilization required to hunt and gather the next meal, their bodies were the tool by which life was accomplished. Movement meant food, shelter, and safety.
In our modern day life, we have the luxury of summoning our next meal from the comfort of our own home where the only movement required is a swipe of our finger (and maybe you’ll get in a couple extra steps to go grab your wallet, which is annoyingly never around when you need it).
The problem is, our bodies are still designed as if movement is necessary for survival. Every single system in the body requires movement for optimal function, from our skeletal system to our circulatory system.
At this point you may be thinking, I exercise 4-5 times per week…I get PLENTY of movement. But here’s where things get dicey. Exercise is a type of movement, it is not the be all and end all for our bodies. One hour of exercise—no matter how intense—is not sufficient to fulfill our bodies’ movement needs for the simple reason that our bodies require much more variability of movement than can be achieved with even 5 hours of exercise per week. In fact, kicking your own ass in the gym may, in some cases, be harming you further.
So what to do? If my body needs the variability of movement that foraging for my next meal provides, but like, I don’t want to do that…how do I both fulfill the needs of my body AND have my meal delivered to my door step?
Enter Joint Exploration. Joint Exploration is the life hack for all your movement woes. It is the solution to the sedentary life of the modern-day world.
Joint Exploration is learning to create diversity and variability of movement within your body. Your body has about 360 joints, each of which are designed and combined together for infinite possibilities of movement within your body. Joint Exploration teaches you how your body works and allows you to let your body be the guide of your movement.
The Joint Exploration process uses one-on-one sessions, where we explore your specific symptoms and build individualized treatment and rehab exercises to ensure your body is functioning optimally. Alongside your one-on-one sessions, you are taking Joint Exploration classes to learn the principles on how to become a more diverse mover.
Joint Exploration is not about getting really good at a particular move. They are about becoming more aware of your own body and building focus, intent, and control over the movement created.
Through this program you will increase the mobility in your body. You will feel stable and confident in your movement and you will build physical trust with yourself. You will resolve pain and heal current and old injuries, as well as prevent pain and injuries from occurring in the future. You will reverse the clock and add life back to your years (getting older does not mean you have to live with pain and stiffness!). You will find a community of like-minded individuals.
There are many more benefits Explorers find through Joint Exploration. Sign up for a one-on-one today and find out for yourself what is possible through movement!
