Ep 3 - The Neurology of Fear with Dr. Brandon Nutt

In this week’s episode, we have our first guest on the show: Dr. Chelsea's other half and original Health Nutt, Dr. Brandon Nutt.

Dr. Nutt is a chiropractor specializing in traumatic brain injury and functional neurology. When it comes to the brain, this guy knows his stuff. Before their first date Chelsea actually asked him if she could ‘pick his brain’ and as you will hear in this episode...she's been doing it ever since!

In this episode we discussed the neurology of fear: how the emotion of fear is triggered and expressed in our mind, brain, and body, and how it ultimately degrades our health long-term. Dr. Nutt helps bridge the gap between the symptoms we experience (racing heart, abnormal blood pressure changes, inward trembling, tics, nervousness, inability to relax) and the emotions we feel. We talk about the different types of fear-based conditions (PTSD and anxiety being the most common) and why it’s impossible to treat these multi-dimensional conditions with one chemical solution.

It was both Doctor Nutts putting their brains together that ultimately helped Dr. Chelsea heal from her own PTSD and anxiety. Dr. Nutt is a wealth of information and an amazing human. You can’t NOT learn something from this episode so take a listen and prepare to have your mind blown!
